I Want Wednesday!

Still very busy with card orders but getting through them. Got lots made today as I started at 5am! Thought I deserved a little break and some Etsy browsing and I've found another fab 'I Want' for this week in the shape of prettylittlethieves. Amazing, amazing original drawings and prints of illustrations and paintings. I love the style and colours and shapes. Money from some of the original drawings in prettylittlethieves' shop will be donated to the Red Cross for Haiti Relief too, so you can help a great and important cause and get a gorgeous little piece of art delivered to your door in the process!

Chambers & Beau Jewellery Giveaway!

I have just spotted this fab giveaway offering the chance to win a fabulous piece of jewellery of your choice from the Chambers & Beau new collection (up to the value of £150) and thought I'd share! It's a gorgeous shop and I've been eyeing up cufflinks on there lately for Dave, or another lucky man in my life, while trying very hard not to get tempted by the lovely things for the girls! Definitely worth an enter.

Head over to Chambers & Beau's blog for details about entering the giveaway. You just have to have a little browse in the shop and comment on the blog post with your favourite items. Shopping is never exactly a chore in my book :) The winner will be announced on Valentine's Day. Woo! Fingers crossed.

Talking of Valentine's Day, card orders are coming in thick and fast so I better get back to my ever-increasing 'to make' list. I'll leave you with a couple of recent orders. Excuse the rubbish light in some of the photos but it has been dark every day for about the last two weeks!

I Want Wednesday...

...is back. I'm shopping again and this week's 'I Want' are lovely prints from crafting duo, 1canoe2 on Etsy. Based in Missouri, they print their gorgeous woodcut and letterpress creations in a big red barn. I'm very jealous! One day I will have a workshop. Enjoy!

Storeyshop On Etsy Front Page!

Woo hoo! I woke up today to find out, though some lovely people on Twitter, that Storeyshop was featured on the front page of Etsy yesterday evening along with lots of other fab, Twitter-inspired goodies. It was a shame to have missed it but we had gone out for a meal so I've just screen-grabbed the collection from Craft Cult. Eating a lovely dinner out while Storeyshop has a little spot in the limelight. Perfect!

Lovely Snow!

I wasn't calling it that last week when I was freelancing in Newcastle and taking hours to get there and home every day on the bus! Good on the trusty 685 though for turning up each morning and braving it in even the day when there was only me and one other person on board. That would never have happened down south.

Anyway, I'm working from home again this week so I like the snow again. Nice and warm indoors with just a few trips to the post office to negotiate for the next few days. We went for a brilliant walk from our house and over the fields towards Hadrian's Wall on Saturday. Being all ski-geared up and going out in it by choice makes all the difference!

Christmas and New Year From The Car

Well, December was one of my busiest months ever with Storeyshop making, designing, wedding planning and Christmas (hence my lack of blog posts) but it was great fun. We have spent time in London, Sussex, Northumberland and Yorkshire and caught up with friends, family and new babies. I have just been uploading and looking through my photos of the festive season and realised that quite a few are taken from the car. Like lots of people, we've done a far bit of driving around. There's something quite nice about the travelling at this time of year and it has certainly been interesting with all the snow. Here's a little snapshot of Christmas 2009 through the windscreen of our little Ford Ka!

We got snowed in at Dave's parents' house and had to be towed up the drive by a trusty Ibex.

We had an 'exciting' winter rally along the moors. I'm glad I wasn't at the wheel and that Dave is a very good driver!

Christmas cows and a change of scenery in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex

And, finally, driving home on New Years Day via the castle where we're having our wedding reception in less than 4 months!

I am really looking forward to what this year brings -a new surname for a start! Happy New Year everyone!
