I Want Wednesday

I am waiting for my jacket potatoes to cook in the oven so perfect time for shopping! Dinner could be some time as our microwave blew up the other day so no giving the spuds a cheeky start in there. Going to have to splash out on a new one. Anyway, on to much more exciting things to spend the pennies on...

I have been browsing beautiful shops on Etsy to bring you another favourite and have come up trumps with these screenprinted beauties by UK-based, summersville. I love the patterns, the colours and the random but brilliant additions to lots of the photographs. Why not add some plastic cows or a toy car here and there? (I love that I have those Fisher Price figures from the last photo too!)

I Want Wednesday!

Nearly missed my chance to do my 'I Want' this week as Etsy just had a funny five minutes but it's back so I haven't. Today I fancied finding some jewellery and was also thinking about weddings seeing as ours is now booked! Woo hoo! I stumbled upon these gorgeous lace necklaces by LiveInStyle on Etsy. I love them...

I really want the bow necklace! There are gorgeous, unique hair pieces in the shop too. I don't think a hair peice will work with my dress for the big day but I'm going to show my Mum. She quite fancies wearing something in her hair but isn't a hat woman. They could be perfect.

I Want Wednesday!

I nearly missed it. I'm all muddled up after the bank holidays and have been thinking it was Tuesday all day. My Wednesday Want for today is basically anything by Reiter8 (pronounced reiterate). Reiter8 is the nicest shop ever and totally unique. You can find handmade cushions and bags 'upcycled' from boat sails. Anyone who knows me will know I love all things nautical and you can't get much more nautical than that! Lots of my favourite colours too; white (I know it's not technically a colour but it's still my favourite), red and navy blue. These are my top picks but there are lots more in the shop...

Click here to see Katherine's 'Handmade Portrait' too. I have only just found it and it's a really nice video to watch and see how the Reiter8 goodies are made. I'm going to have to treat myself to a cushion or two. Or maybe a bag.. I need a sail with a 'H' on. It's my birthday soon too!

I Heart Scalpelling!

My first lovey card order of 2009. I spend a lot of time making love-related cards for other men especially as Valentines Day approaches. So here is (hopefully) the first of many!

I am in a card mood today so I think more Valentines Day cards might be my job for this afternoon after taking my latest orders to the post office. I think I might save tackling designing my new website for when Dave is home later. He seems to understand the technical side of things better than me so far. I have so many ideas for how I want the site to look and what is going to be on there one day, that I get frustrated when I can't even get a trial page to work!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! After a lovely Christmas and New Year in Northumberland and Sussex I'm just getting back into the swing of Storeyshop orders. The shop was open all over the festive period but I had a break from promoting and adding new items and things were nice and quiet. The card orders have been steadily rolling in since though which is fab and I'm enjoying making them even more after a nice relaxing break.

So, here's to 2009! I'm not a January person and don't usually like getting back into real life after Christmas but this year is hopefully going to be a good one and my resolution for the year is to be more motivated in the evenings and not watch rubbish tv! I have my new iPod dock and have managed to revive my ancient iPod which never kept it's charge so was retired to a drawer. So, from now on, it will be music when there's nothing on tv and Storeyshop making all the way. I have loads of ideas for new products and lots of Valentines cards ready to design and cut so look out for them over the next month.

Here are some of the first hand-cut card orders of the year..

Tomorrow will be making some Valentines card orders and making a start on the new Storeyshop website (my other New Years resolution!) I also need to eBay some of the clothes I don't wear to make way for some Christmas presents and a few lovely sale purchases!

Storeyshop Monkeys

I am busy making monkeys this week to stock up for We Make Christmas (see my previous post for details). They are selling well so I am having trouble stock piling but it is all good. I am enjoying making again after my busy month of magazine design and have lots of plans for new Storeyshop products too. I am away tomorrow but I think Storeyshop is being featured on the We Make blog so do have a look!

This is the latest monkey I have made for a lady on Facebook. There is a Storeyshop Facebook group you can join and also 'Your Sock Monkey Needs You' group. Everyone welcome!

Still very busy with the current issue of the magazine but I thought I'd take a little break to upload some new Storeyshop monkeys. Here are the latest newies and there will be more new designs next week!

All available to buy now. I can also personalise monkeys with felt initials sewn on their fronts or sewn names. Contact me through my shop for more details..

Have a lovely weekend!

Every Good Turn...!

I just bought myself a little treat from a new Etsy seller. It's a gorgeous necklace. I like to think of it as helping a fellow Etsy seller to get her first sale! I can always come up with excellent reasons to spend money. The thing is, just as the payment left my account, a lovely person bought one of my sock monkeys. One of my favourites too -Blue Retro Monkey. It was meant to be!

On the subject of sock monkeys, my Green Stripey Monkey has been featured in ellebeestudio's blog. Have a look, it's a great blog. Here is a link to her fab Etsy shop too!

I got a treasury!

Afternoon, It's another grey miserable day but I'm happy as I have just made a treasury on Etsy. Here are all the things I want to buy..

http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=25566

There are so many nice things on Etsy at the moment. I really don't have the money but I want it all. And the bad thing is, I can kind of convince myself that it would be a good way of promoting Storeyshop. I can buy loads of things and hope all those sellers look at the shop!

I got back up north late on friday after my week in London were I was working on the cardboard animation with Beca. The project is nearly finished so that was my last week. I'm missing the glue guns already! It's great being away from the internet for a few days too as, typically, we get lots of orders! I have got back to a stack of 11 card orders which is fab! I have made a few already and I have lots more to keep me busy this afternoon and next week.

Going to attempt to go for a walk or a bike ride at some point this afternoon too. I feel like I don't leave the house much these days. I can't wait for the weather to cheer up a bit and for the evenings to get lighter. I'll hopefully be able to get outdoors with the new camera too when there's some sunshine.

Here are the cards I made yesterday..

Happy sunday!
