Storeyshop Is Moving!

So the other big news, apart from Bump, is that Storeyshop is moving to Yorkshire! Goodbye quiet but lovely sticks of Northumberland and hello city living (sort of). We're off to Sheffield where Mr has a larger factory space he can build his Ibex vehicles in and where I can also have a studio (woo hoo!). We came up with the idea of moving to back to Mr's homeland (God's Country apparently) about this time last year so it's been a long time in the planning and we're excited to be finally getting going. We move in on Tuesday -our 2nd wedding anniversary!

We are letting our little house out and have found a cool flat in a old converted asylum. It's quite a bit smaller than where we are now though so some serious stuff-editing has been occurring! Yes, I'm a complete hoarder as if you wouldn't have guessed from my 30+ egg cup collection (they are all coming with us by the way).

So do say hello if you are in the Yorkshire area. I can't wait to explore the local art and design scene and find some vintage and craft fairs. Not to mention charity and junk shops to start 'gathering' again (see photo above of my latest charity shop purchase which I have managed to sneak in since the 'no more tat buying before we move' rule laid down by Mr). I'm looking forward to meeting some Mums and Mums-to-be, too so we have signed up for the local NCT course in July.

On that note, bump is coming along nicely! I'm 19 weeks today. Here's a couple of pics from 18 and 19 weeks...

The Big News!

Ahh, the news I have been looking forward to sharing since early January. And definitely my proudest project to date: Storeyshop is expanding! Well, my tummy is. Baby Foers is due early September. So happy and excited! It hasn't really felt real at times but seeing the little one when we had our 12 week scan and then hearing the heartbeat earlier this week has made it feel more like it's actually happening. The photo is of my mini bump at 16 weeks. More to come!

Valentine's Rush 2012

Crikey! My last post was 11th January and I had just reached the big 3000 sales in my Etsy shop. Well, I'm pleased to say I'm now up to 3223 sales and have JUST got all of my international Valentine's Day card orders posted. Phew! No more cards will be delivered in time for February 14th now unless you are in the UK.

This is just a quick update to let anyone who is waiting for a card know that I'm cutting and posting as fast as my little (actually quite big) hands will let me. All UK orders will be in time for Valentine's Day, so fear not. I hope you all like your cards and posters and a big thank you for your orders and support. This month has been amazing (but crazy)!

Happy New Year!

Better late than never! Happy 2012 to you all and I hope you had lovely Christmas breaks? We had a lovely, relaxing week in Sussex catching up with my family and friends. It had been way too long! New Year was a lazy and quiet one spent back in Northumberland before the big Storeyshop catch-up began (I'm getting there now!)...

The amazing news is that I have made it! On Monday I hit the big 3000 sales in my Etsy shop. Can't quite believe I have even posted that many items, let alone made and packed them all too! Including my sales on Folksy and all the cards I have made for family and friends I am probably near to 4000! So, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me and Storeyshop since the summer of 2007 when it all began. I could definitely not have done it without you!

As well as the freebies that will soon be on their way to the buyer of sale 3000, I'm also running a little celebratory giveaway over on my Facebook page. For your chance to win a laser cut Storeyshop card of your choice, all you have to do to enter is 'like' or comment on my latest giveaway update! I'll pick the winner at random on Friday. Good luck!

Behind The Scenes: Now Magazine Papercuts

As promised, some behind-the-scenes photos from my recent commission by Now magazine. The task was to create a papercut winter wonderland for a beauty photoshoot. Such a fun job! Storeyshop HQ had to move in to my kitchen for extra space as this project turned out to be quite large in scale. I mocked up the size of the beauty gift sets to be included in the winter scene (biggest was A4 size) in cardboard so I could get the sizes right and did lots of extra trees and snowflakes for flexibility when the papercut shoot took place. Even more mess than usual was created along the way. I was still finding little bits of white card throughout the house (and in the wash) weeks later! The final printed feature is shown in the previous post...

Storeyshop Papercuts in Now Magazine!

Yay, I've been looking forward to seeing this! The reason I was lost for a few days under piles of white paper last month: My papercut winter wonderland for Now magazine! It's a beauty feature in the bumper Christmas issue 2011. I loved cutting this commission and it definitely got me feeling festive earlier than usual. I really like how it looks with the products included between the hills too, as I stared at it for days just in white with cardboard mockups of the lovely products. As I was cutting, I took lots of photos so I'll add them soon, too.

Storeyshop in Handmade Living Magazine

Woo! A very lucky Storeyshop monkey has made it into the gift guide section of the current issue of Handmade Living magazine!

Monkey is ever so proud! In other news, I'm really busy so please bear with me if you are waiting for a reply to a message. I will get back to you asap. I'm currently concentrating on making and posting orders for Christmas. If you are waiting for an order through Etsy or Folksy, please keep an eye on your feedback as I'll leave some for you when your item is on its way to you. Thanks and hope you love your goodies!
