New Storeyshop Cards...

...are in! The first ever batch of limited edition laser cut Storeyshop cards are all nicely cut and will be available to buy soon. They have come out really well and I am excited about taking more nice photos of them (when the weather cheers up a bit and there's some sunlight!) and getting them in to the shop. Available in a range of colours, the new range of pre-cut cards are also great because they are in stock, ready to send straight away and are more purse-friendly. They will also be great for galleries and boutiques to stock. Here are the first few...









This week has sped by. I have been very busy catching up with all my orders and have just about caught up. It's nice to be back up north and back to business as usual with Storeyshop. More blog posts and new items in the shop next week...

Storeyshop Hand-Cut Wedding Invites

Woo hoo! I'm finished. If you follow my blog, you'll know I love making wedding invites and here's my latest completed order in white and silver. I'm very pleased with them. Every single rose is a tiny bit different too, just like in real life. I hope they go down well with the customers! Silver and gold lining papers are now available for all Storeyshop cards and also metallic envelopes at no extra cost.










Happy Tuesday! Post office now to post these off and then more monkey making and a run if I can muster up the energy. Dave and I have signed up to swim the Great North Swim again this year so we need to start getting fit again (well I do). I have to beat my time from last year. Not that I could really go any slower!

This time my mile long freezing cold open water swim is going to be raising money for Evelina Children's Hospital which is part of St Guy's and St Thomas' in London. My little nephew, Harvey, had heart surgery there last summer and I still can't believe how well he and the whole family were treated and the amazing care he got. I can still picture him when he was all wobbly a few days after his op but carefully toddling around in the little Early Learning Centre car. It would be great to give something back to help other little children who have to go there, maybe to buy some more toys for the young patients and their brothers and sisters to play with.

Storeyshop Weekend

Another solid weekend of card cutting! I have just taken the latest batch of 24 down to the post office. I must be helping to keep the local post office in business.




I am just having a quick tea, chocolate Buttons and blog break so I will add a couple of my recent card offerings before getting back to my scalpelling. Sorry to those people I have had to turn down for Valentine's orders but I don't want to promise to get cards to you in time when it may not be possible. I am hoping to get all the Valentine's orders posted by Wednesday afternoon to allow an extra day or two of postage time. A few first class cards have been turning up a day or two late lately, maybe because of the snow. I hope they all arrive in time for the day of love and go down very well with their intended!

Still Scalpelling

Sorry, the Storeyshop blog has been a little neglected lately due to the card rush but I thought I'd write a quick update. I have made 128 new cards in 2 weeks (!) and posted off lots of other sales that were made and ready to send. I'm still cutting new cards too.. I have about 30 new orders to cut by early next week and they are still coming in.

I took yesterday evening off (the first for a while!) to go and see Keane play in Newcastle. It was so good. I highly recommend seeing them play live. The lead singer has an amazing voice and there was a fantastic atmosphere. I was a geek taking photos!

Blogs

It's always really nice to find out how people find out about Storeyshop and go on to order cards and buy monkeys. I don't ask people but a few buyers have mentioned blogs lately where they have seen Storeyshop. A great one is Rare Bird Finds. Have a look and you'll find lots of cool and different things to buy. Storeyshop personalised Valentines cards are featured. Woo hoo!

Storeyshop gets another mention on Acechick's blog which is another cute one to have a look at. Also, The Sweet Jelly Bean is fab.

I have had lots of Valentines orders and I am running out of red card now so I better plan a trip to the shopping centre. Oh what a shame, I'll have to go shopping! There's still time for lots more personalised cards for the big day of love so order away and tell your friends :)

I Love You More Than..

The magazine is finished for another issue. Woo hoo! After three weeks of that and an entire weekend of bathroom decorating (it's nearly done even if it does look slightly more lilac than Steel Grey), I am back to full-time Storeyshop for a week before a week back on Company magazine in London where I used to be senior designer. I am looking forward to going back, seeing the girls and my other friends in and around London. Oh, and maybe a spot of shopping.

For now, though, I am making a custom monkey for a customer and more cards in the 'I Love You More Than...' series. Here are the current favourites. They are all available to order in the shop!

Weddings and Babies

The next issue of the magazine is in production so I am back at the computer looking at my lovely new flat screen monitor which arrived yesterday. It looks very fancy!

Apart from designing, I am working on a lovely commission at the moment to make 16 cards for a customer's wedding guests. Each card has the recipient's name(s) included and some of them are nicknames which makes them even more fun and personal. I am about a third of the way through the order so I'll post some photos of the finished collection soon!

Well I better get back to my fashion layout. I can't believe it's friday again already. DIY and card cutting this weekend I think and hopefully the odd nice meal out. We have a new restaurant recommendation from Postmaster John to try!

Super Cards

A new range of hand-cut Storeyshop cards are now available to order. Partly thanks to Dave's Gran and partly to a custom request from my latest customer, I am proud to unvail the Super Card!

I think I mentioned the three-layer Super Gran card which I made for Dave's, er, Gran, a while back but it has since inspired more three-layer delights such as the recent Super Andy card and now the 'Happy Birthday Dad' card for a stuctural engineer featuring some famous architecture on the second layer.

Right I better get back to my designing. I got the job to design the two business identities and I am starting the new magazine next week hopefully. It will be a busy weekend too as I am taking Dave away for his birthday.. I hope the weather brightens up!

Summer!

Lovely sunny weather for the third day in a row -I think this might be summer! We had a lovely weekend in the sunshine. The new mini greenhouse is now up in the garden and we also went to a Steam Rally in Corbridge and had nice meals in the garden.



I also took a photo of Madam, the slightly moody bird who lives in a tree in our garden. She builds her nest in there every year and looks after her nest full of little ones. We even get to watch her teaching her new additions to fly. I don't know why she is grumpy, she gets quite a good deal really. One of our neighbours even buys grapes especially for her!



Talking of birds in the garden, number 7A is still vacant if anyone is interested?



Back to Storeyshop, I woke up to 2 more card orders which I have made this morning. Both blue love cards..





Right. I am off to post these two orders and then back to monkey making. I only have a week left to get everything ready for We Make London as I am travelling down next monday to freelance on Company magazine the week leading up to the fair. Lots to sort out!

We Make London

The craft fair 'We Make London' is fast approaching and Beca and I are busy making new Storeyshop goodies to take along! Hopefully Storeyshop will be featured on the We Make blog soon too.
